Notes
The Four Temperaments is a theory created by Ancient Greek physician Aelius Galenus to describe the effect of the four fundamental bodily homours on human personality. The temperaments are Melancholic, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Sanguine. The theory is that every person has varying levels of each temperament within them, but overall identifies with a single one. Each temperament is related to a classical element and a personality type:
Melancholic - Earth - Analytical and Quiet
Phlegmatic - Water - Relaxed and Peaceful
Choleric - Fire - Short tempered and Irritable
Sanguine - Air - Optimistic and SocialIn this suite we travel through all four of the temperaments, seeing how the same melody is interpreted by each personality type.
